Question
It took about 50 years for the theory of plate tectonics to be widely accepted. Think about why so many, now obvious, concepts were resisted for so long when first put forth, such as the Earth being round, movement of planets in space, the age of the Earth, etc.
What can a community do to accelerate the validation of new ideas and theories? Consider how technologies advance and how our communication has become widespread and almost instantaneous. Your write-up should be at least 250 words. Include at least two outside references that help support your ideas and include them at the bottom of your post.
Explanation / Answer
It is common practice of human community to resist any new development or proposal without solid documentation proof. From ancient times always any new idea was resisted as it was against old strong rooted belief system.Copernicus was treated very bad initially so was Galileo for their inventions.Society used to make fun of them boycotted them from various activities and irony is that after their death when someone worked on their given theories they were awarded posthumously.
Society at that time did not encourage much innovative new fresh ideas. Now things have changed a lot .In current society new ideas are encouraged.Developed countries spend a lot on research and development.Encouraging new ideas and giving him time to prove his theory can change a lot for our human community as it will help new inventions that can be great for mankind.
