Question
Below shows an illustration of sunspots present on the solar surface. The horizontal lines on the solar disk are lines of solar latitude and the vertical lines are solar longitude. From the illustration shown below:
a) Identify which image shows what the surface of the sun would look like during a solar maximum and minimum of sunspot activity and why.
b) How long does it take to go between periods of solar maximum and solar minimum?
c) Why in the illustration do we show so many sunspots coming in pairs?

Comet Halley has an orbital period of 75 years and when it enters the inner Solar System, it passes within a few AU of the Sun. IPAP (a). Determine the average distance of Comet Halley in AU. PM (b). Comet Halley can be just about past the orbit of Neptune, which has an average distance from the sun of about 30 AU. Explain how this is possible given the average distance you found from its orbital period. SHOW YOUR WORK! em 134Explanation / Answer
answer- solar minimum is the event of least solar activity in the solar cycle of the sun. In this sun sopt present on the sun surface dismishes. and solar maximun is the event is the event of maximum solar activity in the 11 year event of solar cycle in which there is present of large number of sun spot is present on the surface of sun .
In above figures , the figure B represent is the solar maximum because there is large number of sunspot present of the sun surface. and figure A represent the solar minimum because there is decrease in the number of sunspot present on the surface of sun.
Answer 2- It will take 11 years between period of a solar maximum and solar minimum.
Answer3 - sun spot present on the surface usually occurs in pairs on the surface of the earth because of magnetic fieldc coming out of one and into the other. Magnetic fields of the sun spot are 1000 times stronger than the surrounding in photosphere. It represents points where internal magnetic field penetrates of one spot and enter again in the spot.
answer 57- a as we know the relation between orbital period and the distance by keplar third law
T2= R3 .
the orbital period of the Comet Halley is 75
the distance of Commet halley would be 17.78AU
