Question
hi. im studying crystallography for mineralogy class. just a couple questions i have.
1. we are given pictures of minerals on a paper. example would be pyrite. i know its a isometeic crystal system. then it asks for the form. another one is wulfenite. i know its a tetragonal crystal system. but asks for the form. is there a specific name for the forms i write?
and i am also studying a mineralogy lab (rules for writing H-M symbols) for isometric, tetragonal, & hexagonal. is there a link or something where it explains "easier"? like im having problems identifying mirror planes, 2, 3, 4 folded symmetry. eeek lol. thanks.
Explanation / Answer
The form is cubic form.
Usually the isometric crystals of pyrites are either in cubic or elongated (cuboid) form. But in the given figure it is cubic.
Sorry, but posting other links is not allowed on Chegg. So I cannot post a link.
