Explanation / Answer

Telemedicine is a virtual interactive method through which a patient can be examined, monitored or treated with the clinician and patient in separate geographical locations. Only up to some extent telemedicine fills gaps in access to care. The main reason for patient reluctance is it necessarily alters the context of the traditional face to face physicians patient trusts based relationships. This type of technology may affect the trust,as the patient may also think that the person treating might not be a physician . Patient in rural areas might be reluctant to use telemedicine services because of concern of quality it will provide even when their area has the digital infrastructure like broadband internet access in place to support those platforms. Ill suited reimbursements and potentially duplication of services are the concerns where it can be improved and be helpful to increase patients comfort level.

Not only the patients even doctors fear not being able to provide the same quality of care as they normally would for an in office visit. Patient are nervous they won’t be diagnosed correctly and will end up having to go to a clinic anyway.
