Explanation / Answer
The interactive video educates the importance of protecting research participants and misconduct. They are four roles which can be played by viewer and allow us to make decisions with prompt feedback.
In this video there are roles of a principal investigator, clinical researcher, research assistant and institutional review board member. Each character role is clearly played and gives information on problems faced by each role during research and help and educate to take right decisions.
Roles and responsibility of each person like standard research protocols followed during data collection, entering data, participants safety.
Ethics :
Acting ethically is the right thing to do, but it always not easy. Often confronting to a higher standard of conduct is important. Ethical decision making is based on trust worthiness, respect,responsibility, fairness, equality, confidentiality. Ethical decision generate good foundation for good research practices.
We can ensure our research is in ethical manner by taking detailed consent and participatory approaches. In case of vulnerable people like pregnant woman, child the consent should be taken from parents, husband, guardians etc. Researchers should remain alert to ethical issues as they arise throughout research process.
In a research, researchers come across various challenges like dropout of subjects, pressure from higher authorities, authorities asking fabrication of data etc. All these should be handled without any malfunction and research should be carried out according to institutional review board authorities protocol for correct research outcome.
