John and Mary decide that instead of allowing their children to receive the new chickenpox vaccine, she would rather their children develop natural immunity by contracting chickenpox. The 2 children end up getting chickenpox naturally. One their children had the normal symptoms of chickenpox, while the other child was hospitalized for months with streptococcal cellulitis and had to undergo several skin grafts to recover. As well, the housekeeper contracted chickenpox from one of the children, got very sick, and died from complications as a result of chickenpox.

Opinion A: John and Mary violated their children's rights when they refused to vaccinate them. As well, they are culpable in the death of their housekeeper as her death could have been prevented by vaccinating the children.
