*Toddlers (18 months to 36 months):

*physical assessment:
it includes measuring the head circumference upto 3 years of the age .
-monitoring vital signs,height and weight
*Head to toe examination includes
-head and neck-assessing the range of motion ,closure of fontanels,eyes,ears nose ,mouth and throat.
-chest and lungs-observe for chest size,shape ,movement of the chest with breathing and for any retractions.
-then examine the heart,abdomen,genetalia and rectum.
-assess the back and extremities.
-finally neurological assessment for neurological functioning,reflex responses and functioning of cranial nerves.

*Health promotion for Toddler group:
-observe for the anterior fontanels to close by 18 months of age.
-walks with out help and creeps up stairs by 15 months
-uses cup and builds tower of 2 blocks by 15 months
-stands and throws ball overhead,jumps up and down with both feet by 18 months
-manages spoon without rotation and turns pages in book 2-3 at a time by 18 months
-walks up and down stairs by placing both feet on each step by 2 years
-develops good hand finger coordination by 2 and half years.
