Explanation / Answer

13. The correct option will be (a)

Age spots is also called liver spots and solar lentigines. They are small dark areas on the skin. Age spots are the result of an excess production of melanin, or skin pigment. Ultraviolet (UV) light accelerates the production of melanin. On the areas of skin that have frequent and prolonged sun exposure, age spots appear when melanin becomes "clumped" or is produced in high concentrations. Some of these dark spots, however, may look suspiciously like melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer.

14. All options are the possible reasons of the paleness of the skin.

Paleness may be caused by reduced blood flow (low blood pressure) and oxygen or by a decreased number of red blood cells. Nicotine in cigarettes restricts blood flow to your skin, so less oxygen and nutrients can get in, causing your skin to become dry, pale and wrinkled.

15. The correct option will be (b)

Hirsutism is a condition of unwanted, male-pattern hair growth in women. It results in excessive amounts of dark, course hair on body areas where men typically grow hair — face, chest and back. Male hormones such as testosterone stimulate hair growth, and intensify the growth and pigmentation of hair.
