Question
"To sum up: politically speaking, it is insufficient to say that power and violence are not the same. Power and violence are opposites; where the one rules absolutely, the other is absent. Violence appears where power is in jeopardy, but left to its own course it ends in power's disappearance. This implies that it is not correct to think of the opposite of violence as nonviolence; to speak of non-violent power is actually redundant. Violence can destroy power; it is utterly incapable of creating it." Include in your post whether you agree with the premise or not and why.
Explanation / Answer
Violence and power are not opposite . Power is force in reversion , to have power does not always mean that one ought to make the best use of it . Sometime power is used for destruction or other meaningfull purpose if not used right . Mostly power is to use the given authority appropriately but falling in wrong hands can simultaneously lead to violence too .Mostly violence is another form of negative power but not all that rules would use it for the same .Similarly the opposite of violence cannot be non violence for some set of corruption or unfair practise may still persist . Violence would not destroy power rather furiate it even more and is very much capable of aggrevating the situation making it worser .Hence violence is created by power and can create power too .
