Percentage change in the stock price of company C = + 2.2%

Percentage change in the stock price of company E = + 5.9%

Thus absolute value of difference = (5.9% – 2.2%) = 3.7%

Note:

In case of absolute value we ignore sign of (+ and –). But in given data of company C and E percentage changes are in same direction (Positive) that is why we will deduct 2.2 from 5.9 for knowing absolute value of difference between these two.
