Sides of the ladder is made up of alternating sugar and phosphate molecules. The sugar present in DNA is deoxyribose and in RNA it is ribose. Rungs of the DNA are made up of 4 types of nitrogenous bases paired together by hydrogen bonds. The nitrogenous bases are of two types purines (Adenine and guanine) and pyrimidines (Thymine, cytosine, and uracil).
