Explanation / Answer
Every organization sustains itself through 5 resources - Money ,Materials , Machine , MIS and Manpower. While all the resources are important , the last one namely Manpower is the most important because the productivity of the other resources is dependent on the capability of the manpower. Efficiency is defined as Output for Unit Input. Therefore if the Input is high , efficiency will be low. Human input can be high when more number of incompetent people are deployed or competent people do not work as per their competency. Proper recruitment and selection of good manpower can take care of competency requirement. Proper reward and recognition can be used to motivate the competent manpower. At times , one may need to give training to some and also counsel some others to diliver the desired results.
There is a saying "Nothing improves that is not measured". So in the cited issue also , we need to constantly measure the contribution of individual members and also teams and take corrective/preventive steps.
