In case of the African clawed frog, Xenopus laevis, metamorphosis varies with temperature and the availability of food. It is found that there is a prolonged larval period in the low temperature and low food level. Low food levels reduced the growth level more than low temperature. Low food content reduced the metamorphosis and has the effect in case of shape of juvenile, short legged morphology.
