Explanation / Answer

The criteria use to diagnose hypertension

Blood pressure greater than 140 mm Hg systolic and /or greater than 90 mm Hg diastolic. When heart pumps the blood, it is systolic pressure and when heart refills with blood, it is diastolic pressure. Normal blood pressure is 120 mm Hg systolic and 90 mm Hg diastolic.

Measurement of fatty deposits on the endothelium of the arteries which narrow the artery. So it is an important factor of blood pressure.

Measurement of the LDL/HDL ratio in peripheral blood is also a factor of blood pressure. Higher cholesterol levels deposit in the artery and increase the blood pressure i.e hypertension.

Percentage of blood volume made up of platelets indicates hypertension.
