Bark consists of phloem cork cambium. Its also consist of outermost epidermal layer and is present as outermost layer of the plant. It is outside vascular cambium.

Wood is result of secondary growth in the plant and is formed due to activity of vascular cambium and formation of secondary phloem and xylem.
