Question

the following statement just needs a reply to pls

For many years I have played guitar and sang for several bands. Some were cover bands and others were original. Ever since I have learned to play it has been my dream to make a living while playing. The problem is that the risk is very high and you have to travel on your own expense in order to be recognized. The pay is very well in some places depending on the show you are putting on, the amount of people attending, or the place that hires you for a gig. In all, the average for a regular musician is a little over $22 an hour, but Playing 2 or 3 shows a week on weekends for approximately 5 hours a show usually brought in $500 a piece for each of my band mates. The pay can vary depending on how well you play or the places that you play. Obviously the better the place the more people will attend, and the more people you have the more money you make. Musicians can make anywhere from $35,000-several million depending on how well they can play or if they are sponsored by someone.

Looking at the many musicians who fail because they are unable to support themselves when times get hard can be very deterring when thinking about pursuing that route of profession. This is why I have always wanted a bar. Not just a "hole in the wall, but a bar that has a stage and brings in customers from all over the area. The average bar owner makes approximately $47,000 a year. This is the average for a regular bar that attracts locals and has a few themes and some billiards with the occassional band hosting a rock night or country night once in a while. Bars can actually rake in a lot more money if placed in the right environment with a continuous flow of entertainment. Many bar owners that I have met have some sort of business degree $unless they were born in to the business or inherited it. Owning a bar takes patients and skill when it comes to managing and meeting income goals. Alot of ideas and attractions that fit in to the budget have to take place, and if someone doesn`t know what they are doing then they most likely will fail. I figured owning a bar would be a great source of income while also supporting my pursuits in music. Even if the band was stuck in rut for a while trying to write music, I would always have the bar and be able to play there while still having a source of income. On top of retiring from the Army and recieving my monthly pension this should be a feasible goal.

My current career in the Army is part of my plan to owning a bar. I will be retired around 39 years old and with the help from this class and the rest of the classes in my degree, I should be able to have my dream job/bar. I know it will be challenging at first, but having a source of income from retirement to back me up should get me through tough times.
