In the following human pedigrees, you may assume that the disease allele is rare and therefore individua marrying into the family are unlikely to have defective allele. a. What is the most likely mode of inheritance for this pedigree? State the genotypes of individuals # 1-5 in the following table using the letter "A". Use the uppercase letter to OT represent the dominant allele and lowercase letter to represent the recessive allele. b. IndividualGenotypeExplanation / Answer
1. Rock salt or plain salt can be used as an weeding agent. When mixed with water in the ratio of 3:1, the rock salt prevents the growth of weeds by inhibiting their root growth. They buid up around the roots of the weeds denying them of oxygen, water and other nutrients essential for their growth and survival. An inner layer of tissue in the branching roots that anchor the plant with the soil is very sensitive to salt and acidity. In the presence of salt, it activates the production of stress hormone known as abscisic acid which stops root growth. Thus, rock salt prevents the growth of weeds by gradually dehydrating them.
