Explanation / Answer
Homeostasis is the means of maintaining balance in a system. As the environmental condition changes, constant monitoring and adjustments are needed to maintain the proper balance in a system.
Homeostasis and feedback mechanism. Homeostasis is regulated by three step mechanism include receptor, control center and effectors. If something changes in the environment receptor will receive the information. Control center will receive the information from receptor and process it and finally effector will respond accordingly. In a system, temparatute is maintained by a thermoregulation system. Thermoregulation mechanism is maintained in such a way that body is in homeostasis (steady state). In human body, water balance is maintained by kidneys, as it will regulate the amount of water in the body and balance the concentration of mineral ions in blood. It will excrete waste products from the body through mineral ions and excess water. This is done with the help of three hormones antidiuretic hormone, aldosterone and atrial natriuretic hormones.
