a) In a simple way, the relationship between the nucleotide, nucleic acid and DNA is as follows.
The group or polymer of nucleotides is called nucleic acids.
The group or polymers nucleic acid leads to formation DNA.
So the backbones and building blocks for DNA are nucleotides.
The nucleotide contains three parts sugar molecule, phosphate, and nitrogenous bases. The combination of sugar and the nitrogenous base is called nucleoside.
b) The nucleic acids are DNA and RNA. These are developed from polymers of nucleotides. The specific sequence of nucleotides in triplet form called codons. The specific sequence of nucleotide triplet indicates amino acids.
The nucleotide consist of three parts
i. nitrogenous bases
ii. Sugar moiety
iii. Phosphate.
The nitrogenous bases are four Adenine (A), Guanine (G) Thymine(T), and Cytosine(C).
These molecules involved in the formation of different codons like AAG, AGC, AGA etc.
