Question

A news article described a fraud that occurred at a small company. A lower-level man- ager had been embezzling money for many years. The manager said that she was justi- fied in embezzling the money because the company had not paid her what she was worth. In addition, she said that the company would not miss the money, as it had made huge profits thanks to her efforts. What do you think? Do you think the company will miss the money? Assuming the manager was underpaid, was she justified in committing fraud?

Explanation / Answer

The embezzling of cash is a categeory of fraud and fraud is an offence and it by any chance should not be encouraged.

Frauds if any thing noticed should be reported to the management.

Fraudsters should be fired off the job/ appropriate action to be taken by the management otherwise it may encourage the others to do the same.

Even a top performer or even the fraud done by the top MD/CEO also should not be encouraged and appropriate action needs to be taken without considering the monetary value of the fraud.

Fraud is an intentional activity to deprive or causing harm to the others.

Even the under paid reason is not the justifying factor for committing fraud. If he is underpaid he may negotiate with the management for hike in the compensation but not through illegal means.
