DNA damage is responsible for cancer and when the cell senses DNA, the cell cycle should be inhibited until the damage is fixed. If the DNA repair mechanisms are not working, why does this result in the production of cancer cells that have a competitive advantage over normal cells?

(c)Cells such as eosinophils,neutrophils ,macrophages etc. are the terminally differentiated cells which are differentiated.They interacts with pathogen directly.

6. DNA damage is responsible for the cancer production due to the loss of function of tumour suppressor genes like the p53 ,and the gain of function mutation in proto-oncogenes.DNA damage is checked by ATM and ATR proteins.If they are defect in DNA damage or Mutation

It will cause conversion of proto oncogenes into the oncogenes and ultimately cancer .Many type of cancers arises due to the defective DNA damage repair in the body.
