Question

How can your employer tie your pay/compensation to the overall performance of the organization so that you too feel that the organization at some level relies on you to do the best job possible and your pay/compensation reflects it?

Do you think that there are certain benefits which the government should mandate by law and not be left to the discretion of the employer? if so, what would they be?

what are your thoughts about the way you are being paid vis-a-vis others in your profession or line of work?

Explanation / Answer

The organization can tie the pay/compensation to the overall growth of the organization. Let us suppose the organization wants to achieve a particular growth rate. In case the organization is able to achieve the goals related with the growth rate, then the employees would be paid a certain percentage of the compensation.

On the other hand the goals of the employees could also be set. In case the employee is able to achieve the goals completely, then the employee becomes eligible for the pay/compensation.

Thus, a system could be in place wherein the achievement of goals of the organization would define the compensation/pay paid to an individual.

Yes, there could be certain benefits that should be mandated by law. Benefits related with health insurance have already been mandated by law. On the other hand emergency leaves, pursuing education, fixed number of working hours in a week could also be mandated by law.
