1. When did vascular plants evolve? How was this timeline uncovered?

Vascular plants evolved around 425 MYA which was discovered through fossils in Silurian period.

The vascular plants and green algae comparison shows chemical and structural similarities.

2.How does a vascular system help a plant to grow bigger?

In plants, vascular system consists of Xylem and Phloem. Xylem allows plants to conduct water and dissolved minerals from the roots( soil in which the plant lives)to the leaves.

Phloem allows transport sugars from photosynthesis back to the roots.

Lignin in the Xylem strengthens the cell walls. This supports help a plant to grow bigger and so form branches.

3.In 2 - 3 sentences, discuss how gas exchange affects transpiration.

.-During photosynthesis, the stomata needs to be open to allow CO2 to enter and O2 to exit. Water then evaporates from the leaf, creating transpiration.

During photosynthesis plants draws in carbon dioxide through its storma. These stomata will open so that CO2 enter and O2 exit. Water then evaporates from the leaf, so form transpiration.

Water called as the Universal Solvent, as it can dissolve many ions and polar molecules. Solute dissolved in solvent.

Water droplet shaped like a sphere as droplet tries to keep the less surface area.
Water droplet not shaped like a sphere because when the drops will be bigger they are flattened out. As because of large size the pull between the molecules is not enough to hold them together strongly.
