(1 point) During which specific stages of meiosis could non-disjunction occur that would allow a gamete to have more than one copy of chromosome 13? b. (1 point) In normal meiosis (no non-disjunction), how many gametes are produced, and how many copies of chromosome 13 are present in each? c. (1 point) For each stage you stated in part (a), when non-disjunction occurred how many gametes ended with more than one copy of chromosome 13 at the end of meiosis? How many ended with 0 copies?

Explanation / Answer

3

A) In meiosis first and second stage nondisjunction occur allowing the gamete to have more than one copy of chromosome 13 in patau' s syndrome

B) In normal meiosis, 4 gamates are produced. In each gamete, one copy of chromosome 13 is present.
