Question
please
follow and complete each of the following four (4) steps.
1. 1. Locate your favorite recipe and post all of the ingredients and the amount of each (the recipe can be from anything from fettuccine alfredo to chocolate chip cookies).
2. 2. Go to your local supermarket and find lower fat/lower calorie/lower sodium/ lower sugar substitutes or modifications for as many ingredients as you can. Be creative with your substitutions—go on-line and see what others use as substitutions/modifications or review some cookbooks. When you find a substitute, check the food label to help determine how many calories from fat or how much sodium, for example, you are saving with this new version.
3. 3. Prepare and sample the new version!
4. 4. Post your responses to the following questions on the discussion board.
a. A. What recipe did you modify (include ingredients and amounts)?
b. B. What ingredients did you modify and what was the substitute?
c. C. How many calories, calories or grams of fat, milligrams of salt, or sugar did you save (calculate this)?
d. D. Did the substitutions/modifications cost more, less, or about the same?
e. E. Would you use this recipe again?
Provide reference(s) for your information.
