Question

Question: A previously healthy 19 year old female was admitted to thehospital after 2 days of nausea, vomiting, headache, and neckstiffness. Cerebrospinal fluid and cervical cultures showed gramnegative diplococci in leukocytes; a blood culture wasnegative. What disease does she have? How was it probablyaquired? *Note: This question is in the back of the Microbialdiseases of the Urinary and Reproductive systems chapter of aMicrobiology book. The only disease in the chapter I could find that had symptomssimilar to this was Leptospirosis, but that doesn't seem rightbecause it doesn't say anything about Leptosprosis causing vomitingand nausea. The chapter also does not mention anything aboutthe whether it's gram neg or pos or dipplococci.... Thanks in advance for your help!
