Q. Why must you continuously turn the fine adjustment knob while observing the organisms on high power?
Answer: The fine adjustment knob of the microscope is used for the micro movement of the stage which is not visualized by the naked eyes. It is used to fine tune the focus. The continuously turning of the fine focus knob make more clear the specimen which is under observation by doing fine focusing. So when we have to see clear or detail picture of a particular part of the specimen we turn the fine focus knob for fine focusing of that part.
Q. The living organisms you observe are not moving as fast as they appear. Explain
Answer: The appearance of faster movement of the living organisms under the microscope is based on the optical illusion provided by the magnification of length by the microscope. Or in simple words, the things which are closer to eyes appears to be moving fast.

Answer: To distinguish a eukaryotic cell whether it is an animal cell or plant cell we have to focus on some specialized organelles in the specimen. For example chloroplast, cell wall, and central vacuole in plant cell and centrosome having centriole, lysosomes and flagella etc. in the animal cell. These characteristic organelles clearly distinguish the plant and animal cells.

Answer: In my lab I am using A compound microscope. Which have to sets of convex lens A lens facing toward the object is called objective lens and another is facing towards the eye is known as the eyepiece. These both lenses are placed coaxially at the two end of a tube.
Q. Why do you always focus on an object on low power before focusing on high power?
Answer: The main reasons for focusing on low power first is due to two main purposes. Focusing on low power give the exact idea about the height of the specimen. If we start focusing on high-power first then slide may smash with the lens and damage the high power lens so for safety we always focus on the low power. The second reason is that in the low power we can visualize the specimen properly and we can easily know the exact position of the sample but in a high-power lens, only a small area is focused so it is hard to focus on a specific area if we start focusing with the high-power lens.
Q.When and for what reason s should a cover slip be used?
Answer: When we are working with a wet mount slide that time cover slip holds the liquid in the flat form of the observation. Second cover slip avoid the drying of the specimen. The third use of cove slip it protects the direct contact of the objective of high power and the wet specimen.
Q. For what reasons would a cover slip not be used?
Answer: If a specimen is not wet and we are observing the specimen at low power that time cover slip is not used.
