Maintaining energy balance can sometimes seem like an overwhelming challenge. How much is enough? How much is too much? Where do I start? Some people give up before they even try because it seems too complicated to tackle. In a short paragraph, outline a five-step plan that you think would make sense to most people. Given the nature of competitive sports and the role of nutrition on performance, should athletes on High School and College teams be required to complete at least an introductory nutrition class? Should coaches and trainers be held accountable for players’ abuses of ergogenic aids? Explain

To maintain energy balance , it is important to have a diet plan and physical activity. Eating healthy and nutritious food along with adequate physical activity helps maintain energy balance in the body. If the intake of food is more then physical activity should also be more . There are two types of energy balance 1. Positive energy balance 2. Negative energy balance . In the positive energy balance, the feeding will be more without the need of energy at a specific point. This leads to obesity and other obesity related prpblems. In the negative energy balance , the body does not have sufficient energy to perform its function. This signals the body to shut down other non -vital functions of the body . This creates mood swings, unable to concentrate in particular task etc.. So, food intake should be coupled with physical activity to overcome positive and negative energy balance. Repeated dieting , high processed food consumption , less intake of calories creates only negative energy balance . While choosing a particular food , its important to know about the nutritional facts of the food rather than knowing about the calories. By doing so, the body's energy balance is maintained. Micronutrients are essential components in maintaining the energy balance . Inadequate micronutrients leads to negative energy balance. Athlets and other sports men should have adequate knowledge about the nutritional facts . It is important to know about the calories and follow a strict startegy on the food consumption lkie the amount of micro nutrients , macronutrients , carbohydrates consumption and spacing between meals. This helps them enhance their energy and perform well in sports. Thus , its required for every athlete to attend introductory nutrition classes. Ergogenic aids are both safe and harmful. They range from normal health drink to illlegal drugs . Not all ergogenic drinks perform as they are labeled and most are ineffective. Use of illelegal ergogenic aids is strictly prohibited in sports.
