Law is created for many reasons and one of those is to bind a society together. To create effective and reasonable laws we must have shared experiences. These shared experiences are often times tragic like a terrorist attack but can also be celebratory. Please share a story, either positive or negative that you feel has been compelling for the community, nation or world, then tell us why you choose it. I chose school shootings but I'm having trouble putting it into words. Can someone help me get it started. It's for a legal environment of business class thanks

Examples of a case:

One of the examples of a case that has been happening these days & has been affecting the society to a large extent among people in the society is that students engaging in lot of illegal activities. We can have the following real life case:

New jersey vs TLO:

In this case, one of the student has been smoking in the school premises was forgiven. Again when the vice principal searched her purse & found that some drugs were lying in her purse. Police was called & she was handed over to them with multiple charges. But the lawyer who argued in the court on behalf of the student said that evidences should not be admissible in the court because it violated the fourth amendment protection for the student. The court ultimately decided that fourth amendment                                    have constraints on the actions of the school officials & the students have a legitimate expectation of privacy when they are in the premises of the school.

I chose this case because there are lots of similar happenings in many parts of the world. Though the actions of the students are not considered to be good, still the court discusses about the student’s privacy in the school premises.

School shooting:

A school shooting is defined as an attack a school or a university using weapons like firearms. The factors that are mainly responsible for school shootings can be dysfunction of family, lack of supervision by the family members, mental problems etc. the motives of these kind of attackers can be revenge, to solve a problem, getting attention etc.

There were many school shootings in the United States were 1999 columbine high school attacks in Colorado in which 13 people were killed.
