The major function of fin is that they help the fish swim. Fins are located in difffent places thus are entitled to serve difffent functions like moving forward, keeping upright position, turning, stopping etc. Dorsal fins helps in maintaining stability in water, caudal fins work by pushing a fish forward, pectoral fin works by helping in walking etc.
