(1) Describe and discuss one of the star–planet systems referenced in the video.

(2) Summarize and discuss the arguments used in the video to estimate the Earth-type planets present in the Milky Way, including those potentially suitable for life.

Explanation / Answer

Here the video describes gravitation attraction between sun and planets are similar with all stars and their planets. Different plants have different gravitation effects on sun. They rotation period around sun varies from their distance from the star/sun. Even like our solar system the star systems and their planetary system is same. There may many planets around the star and they are rotating around the star. Their masses and sizes are varying like us.

He has shown one star having 5 planets around it and system similar to our solar system.

(2) Summarize and discuss the arguments used in the video to estimate the Earth-type planets present in the Milky Way, including those potentially suitable for life.

The video of Dr Geoff Marcy says that there may by Earth type planets in the Milky Way. But not sure about. All probabilities. No concrete evidence so far about existence of life on other solar system. He said that even if any life is there but they have not left any evidence like us we left our foot print on moon, mars and other planets.

So the assumptions of existence of earth like planet in Galaxy may be possible one in million but no evidence so far.

He said that if life existed in the planet like Earth in Milky Way Galaxy they could have left some evidences on Earth or other planets. But so far no evidence. So we can’t say any life in Galaxy planes. There may be possible. We should look for evidences in future to confirm life there.
