Tides: Tides are upward and downward movement of water mass in the ocean due to the gravity effect of moon and sun. As the moon revolve around the earth, the high tides occurs on full moon day means, when moon arrives along the straight line of earth and sun.
Today the pattern of high and low tides in ocean varies from place to place as the earth also rotate around its axis therefore condition varies from place to place. As for example, in Bay of Fundy the tides are found to be maximum in the world around 40 feet.
Some particular research infered that the pattern of tides were changed in past and will do in future also. The scientists have done some experiments over American eastern coastal region where they found the pattern of tides before 10,000 years ago were different from today as the tides were 10 to 20 feet high at that time whereas today we find only 3 to 6 feet high tides in that region.
Therefore, the pattern (height) of tides keep changing with time.
