I need help guys

Homework # 1 This is take-home assignment You MUST show all work on the assignment sheet only! If you turn in your assignment on notebook paper, it will not be accepted. This homework is due on 22 Jan 2014. Late assignments will be accepted up to one class period late, with a 20% penalty. Put a BOX around your final answer. Find the vector v with the given magnitude and the same direction as . The vector v and its initial point is given. Find the terminal point. initial point (-4,9) Find vectors u and v whose initial and terminal points are given. Determine whether u and v are equivalent. u: (2,2), (6,9) v: (-5,3), (-1,10)

Explanation / Answer

Answe 1:

Magnitude of unit vector, v^ : -6i+4j/sqrt(6^2+4^2)

=1/sqrt(13)(-3i+2j)

Required vector = v^|V|=52*1/sqrt(13)(-3i+2j)=4sqrt(13)(-3i+2j)

Answer 2:

V=0i-4j

Initial point, a = -4i+9j

Finalm point = V+a = -4i+5j

Answer 3: Both are equivalent if the direction of unit vectors are equal

V1 = (6-2)i+(9-2)j= 4i+7j

V2 = (-1+5)i+(10-3)j= +4i+7j

Clearly they are equuivalent .
