Question

I have a sharp EL-W516X,

and when I do square roots it gives me the wrong answers, does any one know why this is or how to fix it?

Example: in my calculator: SqRoot of 2.06x10^-13 / (.059)4 = Error and if I break it down into 2 steps:SqRoot of 2.06x10^-13 = 4.54x10^-7 / (.059)4 =3.077x10^-5

But the answer is 9.34x10^-7, and no one else in my class has a problem getting this.

My calculator is currently in Mode: Write View and NORM 2 I have tried NORM 1 and turrning Write View off and same thing happens?

Explanation / Answer

In this calculator, The 2nd F button allows access to secondary functions (written in orange above the buttons). For example, to find the square root of 5 hit the 2ndF button then the x2 button. A root sign will appear in the display. Hit 5 and then = to calculate the square root of 5 (2.236...). To turn off the calculator hit 2ndF then ON/C.

Using brackets can make calculations easier to perform. Proper use of the parenthesis will lead to a correct calculations always.

HERE IN THIS CASE YOU NEED TO INPUT FOLLOWING EXPRESSION IN YOUR CALCULATOR.

Sqrt (2.06/(4*0.059))*10^-13) =0.000000934 = 9.37x 10^-7

Hope it will help !
