This week in the audio visual presentation you learned about the "Law of Unintended Consequences". Every unintended consequence has a root cause that leads to the consequence. Sometimes there are many steps the lead to the consequence and we often don’t immediately connect the two. Think about the discussion in this week’s AVP and the draining of swamps to get rid of mosquitoes.   Later there was a loss of game fish and mammals. It took years to connect all the steps from the ridding of the mosquito breeding sites to the loss of higher predators in the ecosystem.   This is a classic unintended consequence.

Describe another environmental example of an unintended consequence.   If possible, describe something from where you currently live or a place that you have lived. Make sure that you describe it well enough that your classmates who are not from that area can understand the issue and make some comments about it. Include in the discussion, what is going on today and trace it back to the root cause. And remember from the AVP, that the root cause may seem like something that is totally unconnected.

Law of Unintended Consequence could have positive impact, a negative or no impact at all towards the result focussed by an individual or an organization.

i would like couple of environmental examples in my locality that has caused some serious issues to the human society.

In our locality the number of vehicles are increasing each day but the roads are still are of the same width, due to which everyday people used to face problems, such as children going to school, employees going to work , commerical transportation, hours of traffic jams, accidents etc.

one day the local government authority decided to get rid of this and ordered cutting down of trees for widening of roads for ease of trasnportation, thousands of trees were fell down in a quick time without caring of its consequence. the main motive was to get rid of the everyday rush and jams.

ultimately, its unintended consequence was that the various insects and birds started effecting from they lost their habitat , thier homes for our comfort we let the insects and birds virtually die. how can we so selfish if we are thrown out of our homes in the same way, we are there to retaliate but the innocent creatures are helpless.

another example is installing of radio towers, people always had the issue of call drops and bad communication in our locality, but with technology advancements our comfort zone inclined. to get rid of this problem the company installed a powerful radio tower to cover a large area. everyone in the locality was happy and satisfied with this result, but there was more to it as a negative consequence. the law of "unintended consequence states that with the desired result there comes something unexpected which can give us pleasure or something sour in feeling"

here the case concludes as it was stated with installation of towers , its radiation effects the health of people, a big reason to worry.within a year dozens of people in the community fell sick, with doctor claimed that many has serious health issues due to radition from the radio towers.
