Question
ECOSYSTEM 1: What problems arise when a species is introduced from a foreign ecosystem and why do these problems occur? If a species is introduced to new environment, what factors determine whether the species will adapt to its new environment? Once introduced to a new environment, can a species undergo changes that eventually create a new species (speciation)? 2: Describe how differences in climate cause Earth to be partitioned into major biomes. Then explain why tundra and desert ecosystems support a much smaller animal biomass than tropical rain forests. Lastly, identify and describe the biotic and abiotic components of the biome where we live 3.What was the most interesting fact you learned this week? Explain why this was an interesting fact to vonExplanation / Answer
1.)when we introduce species typically they does not have predators, parasites or grazers. These non native plants also can release chemicals that can exclude native species.A non native plant may find the environment favourable to survive but they can fit in the frame work of relation ship with the new biotic community.some examples like rabbits introduced in australia,Fire ants, japanese beetles, zebra muscle etc introduced in usa. No,the specie after introduced in new environment that will not create new specie and there speciations does not change.
2.)A biome is avery big geographic biotic community as usually named after a dominant type of vegitation. And also some of the factors like climate such as temperature and precipitation will determine which type of organisms are capable of surviving in the given area.It also cut the earth ecosystem called biomes.
in tundra and desert there is very less amount of food to support large biomass that compared to rain forest.Verly less amount of plants can be grown in these places and plants are the food sorce in most ecosystems.where as in rain forest massive amount of plants can be grown and can support much larger animal population and these animals live near trees because they need food and shelter.
A biotic community is that living portion of the ecosystem like plants, animals etc.where as the abiotic is non living portion like chemical and physical factors. And the biotic members will influence each other and will contribute to abiotic community during decomposition.
