Life cycle analysis of any product refers to the holistic approach to reduce the resources consumption in all the processes involved in the life cycle of a product i.e. from the gathering of raw material for the product, then to manufacturing of product, packaging and distribution, use of the product and lastly the disposal of the product. For example the life cycle analysis of a mobile phone company can be:

Energy require for gathering microprocessor, sensors, displays and other goods.

Then the account of the energy that is required to assemble all these raw materials to get a final product that is a smart phone.

The third step would be the distribution of these finished mobile Phone to various markets of the world and the energy that is require in this process.
