unpredictable 7. Let's review the dilemma of earthquake prediction based on earthquake precursors. Consider the scenario where you are a seismologist and you observe one kind of previously reported earthquake precursor (just one). Will you issue an earthquake warning publically or not? (Note that you know there is high probability that it is a false alarm; a false alarm can lead to significant economic lost in society and will also likely damage your career). Please use one or two sentences to state the reason of your decision.

Explanation / Answer

Yes I will issue an public warning. It may lead to loss of my job and may lead to economic loss but if the alarm is true then it would save many lives and hence prevent even large amount of economic loss that otherwise would have occured.  
Also on adding any new precursor the probability of future earthquake increases.
