22. 0/2 points | Previous Answers SCalcET8 3.4.080 If the equation of motion of a particle is given by s-A cos(at + , the particle is said to undergo simple harmonic motion. (a) Find the velocity of the particle at time t. S(t) = |-Aw sin ( wt + ) | × (b) When is the velocity 0? (Use n as the arbitrary integer.) Please try again. Remember, the velocity function is the derivative of the position function. Recall he chain rule: If Fx)- f If the velocity function is periodic, it may be 0 at infinitely many points Enhanced Feedback Read It Talk to a TutorExplanation / Answer
s = Acos(wt + delta)
Derivin' :
dx/dt = A * d/dtcos(wt + delta)
A * -sin(wt + d) * w
-Aw * sin(wt + d) ----> ANS
You were right,
maybe w is not to be written, instead you gotta write "omega".
------------------------------------------------------------
When is v = 0 ?
-Aw*sin(wt + d) = 0
sin(wt + d) = 0
We know that sin(n*pi) = 0
So,
wt + d = n*pi
So,
t - (n*pi - delta) / w
Again write w as
"omega" and you shud be golden!
Plz comment if it worked!
