Question

1. There are three graphs plotted in the coordinate system below: Position (s(t), Velocity (o(t), and Acceleration (a(t)). Graph 2 Graph 1 Graph Which graph is s(t)? Which graph is v(t)? Which graph is a(t)? Give reasons for your answers in sentences. Your explanation should include a discussion of slope with regard to each graph. Graph 1 = s(t), v(t), a(t) (CIRCLE ONE) Graph 2 = s(t), v(t),a(t) (CIRCLE ONE) Graph 3 = s(t), u(t),a(t) (CIRCLE ONE) In the space below, justify your answers using complete sentences. Your justification should include a discussion of slope with regard to each graph.

Explanation / Answer

As we can see that Graph 3 is the derivative function of graph 1 ..... And graph 2 is the derivative function of graph 3.... Therefore position function corresponds to graph 1.... Velocity is the derivative of position function therefore velocity corresponds to graph 3..... And acceleration is the derivative of velocity.... Therefore graph 2 corresponds to acceleration.
