10)- The hermit formation of the grand canyon formed at the base of the coconino sandstone stand slope because due to soft fine grained sedimentary rocks, it was very much prone to weathering to form slope. Animal tracks, mud cracks, and raindrops imprints proves that hermit formation was often exposed to the air. Cracks due to rain and weather at the top of the hermit formation was filled with the coconino sandstone.
