answer1: If you see the depth of water table surrounding the john well in map 1, it is minimum 40 feet. however, jones well is only at depth on 32 feet. his well is not able to penetrate the local water table hence he loses the water. during the dry season and may get water during the rainy time.however, the condition becomes worse when two new companies enter into the area. after their entry, because of overpumping, the water table goes down by more than atleast100feet. Now jones well will never able to reach that depth of water table and he loses water even in rainy season.
