Research Design Questions

Which course delivery format leads to academic success in a psychological statistics class? Online, blended or face-to-face?

- What is your hypothesis (both null & alternate)?please

-Is this a qualitative or quantative design (based on type of variable collected) and why?

-Explain if your study could be classified as a descriptive,correlational or experimental design.

-What would be an example of a variable for this study of course delivery formats that could be measured on a nominal scale? Ordinal scale? Interval scale? Ratio scale?

-Once you have collected your data on the effectiveness of the various types of course delivery for a statistics class, would you use inferential or descriptive statistics and why??

-Please create a sample frequency distribution for one of the variables. Choose either a simple or grouped frequency distribution and explain your choice.

Ho: effect of both online and face to face interaction is equal

i.e we can rewrite the null hypothesis as

Ho: online effect - face to face interaction effect= 0

against , Ha: Ho is false i.e one is significantly different

Clearly it is a both tail test. One efeect can be equal, better or worse than other.

The data you will collect based on the marks obtained in psychological statistics paper those took online(X1) and for those took face to face study(X2) separately. Find mean for both cases and construct a test for mean. Clearly this will be quantitative data.

The study could be descriptive and we can also check if there is any correlation between study methods with the marks obtained. Then the testing will be fixed size Pearsonean chi square test.

The study of a variable could be marks of every student in psychological statistics opt for online teaching or face to face interaction.

This variable will be measured with an interval scale.

This will be Inferential Statistics after getting the data.

One can conduct Simple two sample t test

Ho: mean of X1= mean of X2 against Ha: Ho is false

two tailed t test.

The sample frequency distribution can be constructed after getting the data. The data is not available.

If frequency of every individual is too small then construct group frequency distribution considering each group contains at least 5 observations.
