Question

Suppose we Reject H0 for =.05, Then for=.10 we would......?

I am pretty sure that you do not contain enough information, but Imay be backwards in my thinking. Have several more problems similarto this one, so an explanation would be very helpful. Here is mythinking so far: If you are accepting H0 at acertain significance level (.05) for any higher(.05<.10) you would also accept and for any lower(.05>.01) there would not be enough info. And in contrast if youare rejecting H0 at (.05) for any higher (.05<.10) you would not contain enough info andfor any

Explanation / Answer

I hope you what we mean by a p-value . I will   use this to explain the answer . Suppose , we reject H0 for =0.05   , this implies that the p-value wascertainly lower than . Hence if we now take to be greater than 0.05 , forexample if now = 0.1 , then still the p-value is lower than the new and wereject H0 . Now , suppose we take a lower to be less than 0.05, for example let now = 0.01 . Then it might bethat the p-value is still lower than this new , but it might also be possible that now thep-value is higher than 0.01 . Thus , this time we do not have enough information.
