I need some fast help determining which statistical test are appropriate for my proposal. My data includes habitat variables, and presence/absence/abundance of species. The question I am trying to answer is whether there is any association between presence of target species with habitat variables or with other species. I also need help analyzing the data itself, e.g. tests for normality, etc. Since this is not continuous data, ANOVAs and t-tests(?) will not work. What other tests can I use to analyze these types of data?
