Explanation / Answer
3 major characteristics that make Earth unique among other planets of our Solar System and that also make conditions favorable for life to develop. ?Magnetic field: Earth's magnetic field is unique among other planets. Earth;s magnetic field made life possible by deflecting the harmful solar winds. Solar winds are responsible for damaging the ozone layer which protects Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation. Atmosphere: Earth's atmosphere has proportions of gases which can support life on Earth. Oxygen is found in the atmosphere with approximately 20% which is necessary for humans to breathe and survive. Atmosphere saves life from cosmic rays. Presence of water: This is the unique feature of Earth which helps in the formation of life. Water was formed long ago due to the apt temperature conditions in the Earth and helped in the formation of life.
