Hello, I believe the answer in the book is wrong. The question is: A little league team has 15players. a) How many ways are there to select 9 players. I believe the answer is 15 choose 9 = 5005. The books answer is 362880, which is factorial(9). Even if am wrong and the correct answer is we are selecting 9players by position, which is an ordered selection, then the book'sanswer still seems wrong to me. I'm pretty sure you shouldn't doubt your answer and thatyou're book's indeed wrong. 15! / (6!* 9!)=5005 and that's the only way of choosing 9 outof 15 unordered. The only way that your book could be right is if Little Leaguehas some stange rules. Good luck with it and don't doubt if you're sure.Related Questions
