Question
10.4 Do state laws that allow private citizens to carry concealedweapons result in a reduced crime rate? The author of a studycarried out is reported as saying "The strongest thing I could sayis that I don't see any strong evidence that they are reducingcrime."a. Is this conclusion consistent with testing
H0: concealed weapons lawsreduce crime
versus
Ha: concealed weapons lawsdo not reduce crime
or with testing
H0: concealed weaponslaws do not reduce crime
versus

b. Does the stated conclusion indicate that the null hypothesis wasrejected or not rejected? Explain.
I just want to check answers: I believe that the answer toa is that the null hypothesis is that concealed weapons doreduce crime because it includes an equality (and the alternativeis that concealed weapons don't reduce crime). For partb I think that the null hypothesis was not rejectedbecause there is a lack of strong evidence.
Thank you!
