The chances of it crashing again so soon are verysmall.” If the likelihood of an airplane crashingfollows a Poisson distribution, what are these studentsforgetting about a Poisson randomvariable?   
  1. The Poisson random variable is discrete.
  2. The number of trials must be at least 30.
  3. The outcome of each trial is one of two mutuallyexclusive categories.
  4. The results of one trial are not dependent on the resultsof the other trials.
