please help!

Explanation / Answer

a) A simple random sample (SRS) can be selected from the pool invarious ways. There is not one exact correct response forthis question, but here is the method that I would use: First, assign each of the 1800 participants a number(alphabetically, or chronologically, take your pick) Next use a random number generator (on your Graphing Calculator) ora Table of Random Values (in your book) to produce 15 numbersbetween 0001 and 1800. The fifteen numbers produced by the generator correspond with thewomen in the study, so pick the women whose numbers aregenerated. b) It would be difficult to generalize the results of thisstudy. Since the women were compensated for their time, it ispossible that they were more inclined to participate diligently inthe study. Also, the 1800 women were only selected from abody of students between the ages of 18-25. A middle aged orelderly woman would definitely have different results than a youngwoman in her early twenties.
